These kids are amazingly resilient and so much fun. At the same time, it is hard for them and they have such a hard time with learning the new social rules. And it's hard when they don't have routine. It sounds to me like you are doing the very best job possible. I went with Penny the first couple of days in school. The first day I left her alone she yelled, "I HATE YOU!" I just smiled and said, "I love you. I'll see you later." The teachers were all so supportive.
