Welcome - ยินดีต้อนรับ

Hello all family and friends!

With great excitement, we started our adoption journey in August 2008. We are now first time parents through adoption of an 8-year-old son from Thailand. We have chosen to build our family through the adoption of a son from Thailand because this is where we feel God is leading us right now.

It took 1 year and 9 months to bring Ray home and it was totally worth it!

We appreciate all of your love and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Thanksgiving Blessing

We backed out of the garage today to go to the relatives house for the holiday and stopped before leaving the driveway because there was a UPS package leaned against the front door. Low and behold, it was our long-awaited WACAP package with Ray's updated photos, video, and interview information! We are extremely thankful this arrived today and we were able to see our soon-to-be son showing off his English homework. I just wish we could give him a big hug!

Plus, on Monday night we got an email from Patti and Gene Bellavance with their photos of Ray and their son Mark that they just took while visiting the TRC this week. They are in Thailand visiting their relatives and told me they would say hi to Ray for us and send pictures. I never thought they would email them directly from Thailand. That was extremely kind and we appreciate it so much! We actually got many more photos from them than the two we got from WACAP. We cherish all the info and photos we can get and are amazed at the Bellavance family's generous friendship, even if we've never met in person. We hope that Mark and Ray can remain great friends once Ray's home with us.

It really is a small world, after all! Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!

How exciting! Were Patti & Gene able to leave Thailand before the airports were stormed and shut down? Hope they are fine. Would love to see those pics of your cute little guy. But, I understand why you're not posting on the internet. We had to sign a promise that we wouldn't publicly post any photos until after the adoption was completely finalized.

Glad you were able to get additional photos especially unexpected ones from friends traveling. I know it eases your minds while waiting!!

Why are we adopting internationally and not domestically?
While we think adopting domestically is extremely important, our hearts are drawn to the waiting children in other countries. Some of our closest friends and relatives have adopted, are adopted themselves, or are planning to adopt internationally. This has been a wonderful experience for them, as I am confident our adoption will be for us.

Why are we adopting from Thailand?
The number one reason is simply...that's where our son is living right now. Also, the Thai people are extremely laid back and friendly and the adoption process is very straight forward in Thailand and has been around for decades so there should be no surprises or corruption. After researching our other options, the requirements to adopt from Thailand fit our requirements. If we decide to adopt again, we will reevaluate the different countries and domestic programs.
